Where to Find IKEA
There are about 55 IKEA stores in the U.S., and another 15 or so stores in Canada. IKEA has many more stores globally; see their website below for locations. But keep in mind that this guide is for the U.S. stores specifically, but has some additional notes for Canada.

An update to share!
First off, I LOVE your site! Thank you for going through all the work of putting these lists together.
As for the update to share, I went to IKEA a couple weeks ago and learned the following:
– the swedish meatballs on their own are dairy free. when they are cooked in the bistro, they are cooked in the gravy and are not dairy free. when they are cooked in the cafeteria/restaurant area, they are not cooked in the gravy! (they said this was the same at all IKEAs but I specifically went to the one in Utah).
– the gooey chocolate cake is dairy free and delicious!
Response from Go Dairy Free
Thank you Megan! We have done a full update.
A Museum Where Everything Can Be Purchased
Besides the great cafeteria that now has vegan options (thank you!), I love to pursue the store to see displays of bedding and other furnishings. It is like looking into an apartment through the window at night.. as if the people who live there will walk into the room at any moment! I have bought so much there through the years, but mostly the small house wear items. The iKEA look clashes with my current furniture.
Slight edit needed on this page, I believe
IKEA’s Swedish meatballs, by themselves, are dairy free (I’ve eaten the frozen ones at home) but it’s the mashed potatoes and the gravy in store than contain milk.
This site is overall fabulous for helping this nursing mama avoid milk to keep my baby healthy, while still getting to go out occasionally. Would love to see a page on Wawa because their website is not the easiest to navigate
Response from Go Dairy Free
Thank you. We updated for clarity. Yes, the meatballs themselves are made without milk, but the sauce they serve them in at the bistro does contain milk.
the food is delicious, but not digestibale for everyone.
Dairy free is not the same as vegan. I am lactose intolerant not vegan. I would like to see options that just don’t have dairy. i.e. milk products in them. That includes butter. 38% of the US population is lactose intolerant.
Response from Go Dairy Free
Yes, this is a dairy-free guide, not just vegan. In fact, the body of it is dairy-free specific, meatballs and all! The vegan guide is separated out and further down.
Vegan options that I can't find elsewhere
The frozen potato pancakes they have are the only vegan ones I know of. Two different vegan Meatballs and other solid stuff as well

Glad IKEA restaurants have some dairy free options. Most fast food restaurants don’t have any dairy free options at all.
